SUPERSPORT WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
PTR TRIUMPH
The FIM Supersport World Championship has spanned three-decades and is widely acknowledged as an ideal platform for the development of emerging talent on the world stage. The championship has been opened up to a wider category of engines, beyond 600cc, under the ‘Next Generation’ balance of performance formula, which Triumph took a lead in helping to establish in British Supersport, before its adoption in the World Championship more recently. Triumph’s entry in the series is in partnership with the experienced PTR team, under the PTR Triumph guise, in a fiercely competitive championship that supports Triumph’s future racing ambitions.
The Triumph Street Triple 765 RS is the base platform that the team uses in this production bike championship, which only allows homologated machinery with strict rules on adaptations, proving the performance credentials of the 765 triple engine and Street Triple RS chassis at the top level of competition.
